Who has dormant G-prod , GT-4, and GT-5 cars sitting around?

well, that was one of the reasons for this survey.

IF,
there was at least one or two races a year in the mid-west, that followed the old E-F-G-H prod format, with GT-4 and 5 .

How many would be interested ?
Yes, this would mean they are non-S.C.C.A. events. Does that matter ?

It's easier to make happen than you think.

Joel,
There already are two such events. Both at Road America. They are open to any E, F, G, H, production cars plus GT4 and GT5 cars that were eligible to race before 1992. You must have a SCCA logbook and a GCR from the year you want to use. Then you can race your car just as raced with SCCA. Fiberglass bodywork, coilover suspension, drysump motor, slicks,......what ever was allowed in the year you choose. The goal is to get these old cars back on the track. In addition to these two races the Gold Cup at VIR and the fall vintage race at Sebring use the same format. Entries have not been what was expected. Still, it's an option for those looking for somewhere to race.

Maybe the RA, VIR, Sebring and Waterford guys or the sanctioning bodies should coordinate on a series that uses those events to have a mini-Championship?

I've been kicking around hosting such events at our track. Mainly because I have a GP 510 and other vintage cars. I'm planning on going to the Racetrack Managers Conference at PRI this year to see if there is some interest with other operators.

I read someplace that out of our three classes we had more entries this year than the T1, T2, T3, SSB, SSC classes that go into the new T1, T2, T3, T4 classes - even with all of the parked cars.
