Runoffs

Wow, that FP was fun to watch... I kept yelling at my computer the whole time. I really wish I would have taken my car. Would have been a hoot.

I wonder what happen to Joe's tire...

Great show guys!

Sam

WOW,the amount of fans in the grandstands was amazing !!! They all wore different colored shirts that look like squares, you know what they say, all the fans of NASCAR know who their favorite drivers are, and all the drivers in the SCCA know who their favorite fans are  Congrats to all.

With 1st to 3rd less than 2/10ths of a second for H and F, E is going to have to do the same.

Wonder how the lead trophies will be handed out this year?
Good parody in H except for BMC.

Don't hand anything out. No lbc's showed up. Don't think I could have been competetive but I'm not crying over it. Maybe something is needed but how will we know what to do if no one shows

Joe... We're selling tickets and a lot of them. Hard to drive around this place yesterday. Everyone is surprised at the large spectator turnout.

That's not true Aaron, there were two Spits here. Andrew Wright had his here but had an engine fail before the race. He was listed in a Mini and I asked him about that but i think he said there was a mix-up on the entry or something like that.

Also Tom Broring was also here with his. He also had his 1500 engine lose a piston on Wednesday and he was able to get his back-up engine installed in time to do a couple of hardship runs before the race. I thought started the race but don't know for sure.

Great EP race. I lost video about 10 minutes before the start of the race but got it back working on the pace lap.

Good to see a mix a brands at the front.

I'd like to point a a REALLY cool fact......the MOV in SM (1.794s) was ONE HUNDRED times larger than the MOV in HP (0.010s) and TEN times greater than FP (0.152s).

Just sayin'......prod races did not disappoint. They were probably three of the five best races all weekend (along with FF and F5).

Why compare?

SM was a great clean race with changing conditions. A true testament to the quality of the majority (I didn't say all) of talent in that particular field.

The Prod races were exciting as hell, but were messy. If both of those races were a SM race, we would be hearing how that class is destroying te image of the club....

All were good in their own way.

Bob, That was well said!

I was just trying to make a quick point. For all the SM hype about close racing, we prod guys had TWO races that had closer MOV. That's all I was trying to do.

SM was a clean race because it rained before hand. Does anyone actually think that they would have had that clean a race if it was dry? I was there flagging at the bus stop. All of us were glad to see the rain (not so glad to have the fireworks go off so close to us). It meant the drivers would take a collective breath and dial down the red mist a bit.

I doubt the MOV in HP is legit, AJ looked to be back a good amount and its questionable if Brian and I even tripped the timing loop, likely inputted by hand just to define the finishing order on paper.

Jason... Quite a show! Great run. Watched you from our turn 5 vantage point and it looked like you were really working hard out there. Congratulations!

Thank you to everyone who helped put together the Runoffs, it was a fantastic experience! Can't believe it has taken me 20 years to make it to the big race (well, I guess racing ITA had something to do with it), but it was great to finally be a part of it. Going in, I thought the Prelude would be a good choice for E-Prod, given it is a front-drive, heavy pig with decent power against most of the competition in the Great Lakes :) Turns out, it did pretty well through 8 laps, though didn't really have the HP needed to make a run for the top step. We'll be back in 2016 to give it another try at Mid-Ohio (and hope to find some kind of home field advantage!) Just posted the in-car footage from the E-Production race and wanted to share it...

The car DNF'd on Lap 8 due to a failed LF axle, unfortunately!
