2. We could use some infrastructure. Tables to serve dishes on, tubs for beer, soda, etc.

I could bring a 6' folding table by Dayle.
As for beer/soda tubs, I've found that a few 24" square, heavy cardboard boxes with the large black yard garbage bags can actually hold quite a bit of ice and drinks. As long as the bags don't develop a leak...

Oh, and a donation will be headed your way soon.

Jay,
The table will come in VERY handy. Thanks a bunch. I like the idea of semi-disposable pop/beer can coolers too. I'll get on it.

Dayle - count me in for a small donation. Hoping to join the fun in the very near future, but first thing's first, gotta fix the car!

Bump......and a quick update on things.

Many thanks to the folks who sent in donations this past week. Even with that support, we are well behind last year's contribution pace. Please consider making a donation (monetary or otherwise) so we can make this party a bigger success. And we measure success by how much money we can give to the workers. Arrangements have been made with the SCCA so we'll be able to give away our funds at the Attendee Dinner Party on Friday evening.

With week left before I head off to RA, things are shaping up nicely. Once again, Steve has twisted some arms at Johnsonville and they are supplying brats and Italian sausages for our dinner. I'm sure he'll have more goodies as well. In addition, I'll generate a flyer with a location map. I'll roam around the paddock and pass it out to the prod and GTL folks.

Once again, here are the details: It'll be held at 6:30 on Wednesday evening (9/19) in our paddock spots (801-804 in Sargento South).

Send an email (frameh@msu.edu), call (517.575.9450) or PM me if you have any questions, comments or wish to make a donation.

Come on guys. I'm not even going and sent a donation!

That's true.....even though he drives a Spit, he stepped up and gave.

So did several others over the last couple of days (you know who you are.....in case you wanted anonymity). And for that I am very thankful. The pace has definitely picked up. But we're $450 behind last year's pace. We can take donations at the track. I'll be handing out flyers to all the prod/GTL entrants on Sunday and Monday as well as posting them around registration, the jons, etc.

Have a safe trip to the track and we'll see everyone this weekend.

Dayle - Can you stick the relevant info in the first post of this thread? Just a suggestion, as I had to go hunting for it.

I'm hoping to make it up there in time for this. Leaving right from work ~11am, with the hopes of making the 5pm close of registration. 438 miles door-to-door; you do the math. The joys of starting a new job, and pro-rated levels of vacation time. Good thing I gain and hour!

Dayle - realized neither of us got you money. Imagine it's too late for paypal so we'll give you cash when we see you out there. Should arrive Tuesday afternoon. We'll bring some local Maryland brew to the party and can bring a long table if needed.

Good luck to everyone at the Runoffs and enjoy my birthday party aka the Prod/GTL Party :)

I thought one more post to let everyone know how things turned out.

We ended up donating $2000 to the Worker Tow Fund. Many thanks to all involved. Whether you donated money or resources, came to the party or just spread the word, this was a success due to a total team effort.

I had the pleasure of giving away 40, $50 gifts to workers on Friday night. With 450 workers attending, almost 10% received something from the prod community. Again, many thanks.
