MIL @ RA (Cat National) on 7/25, 7/26

Won't know until I take everything apart.

Externally, the half-shafts look okay.
My gut tells me its either the clutch or pressure plate.

Saturday’s Race
EP – Brakke ran away from the small field. Simaras was running 2nd comfortably until he pulled in just over halfway in.
FP – Sturm and Griesinger battled closely for first most of the race. Sturm held the point with Griesinger moving into the lead at one point. Dieter began to lose time when his rear tires started going away late in the race and Patterson (EP Prelude) spinning in front of him in turn 1 near the end did not help matters. Sturm got away at that point and went on to win. Froh’s clutch broke two laps in and Hart’s old tires couldn’t help hold off Clark (in Scott Lunder’s old Civic) who charged into third on the last lap.
HP – Gauper’s clutch let go at the start which allowed Trainer into the lead, a position he held until Loshak’s quick Honda came from DFL starting position to claim the victory over Trainer and Hannagan. Mark Brakke showed up in his Mazda 2, which is essentially a B-Spec with HP decals.
GTL – Two cars entered, one made it on track for qualifying and none made either race.

Sunday’s Race
EP – Brakke held the point once again and began pulling out on Simaras immediately, although James kept it closer this time around, he didn’t have enough for Jon.
FP – Sturm had the pole in class and pulled a few car lead on Griesinger and Hart who were battling for 2nd. On lap two, Hart got ahead of Griesinger going into turn 5 and proceeded to spin in front of Dieter coming out of turn 6. With only one way to go with Hart coming back across the track Griesinger took to the grass to avoid contact and just clipped the back end of the backwards rolling Turner removing most of the back end of that car. Dieter spun across the track with minor damage, compared to Hart, to the left side and nearly backed into the wall that seems too close to the track. Both drivers took to the track well behind Jacob Clark who moved into second. They began a battle to catch Clark and within two laps Dieter was back around with Hart several car lengths behind. While this happened, Sturm pulled out quite a lead never to be challenged again. Griesinger pulled away after a many lap battle for 2nd with Hart. Hart was shown the meatball flag with two laps to go, came into the pits, and went back out losing 3rd place to Clark who stayed consistent.
HP – Loshak and his new car are fast! It’s a very nice example of a CRX and should do very well anywhere it goes. Trainer and Hannagan ran together for many laps with Hannagan getting the best of Trainer in the end for 2nd place.

The production group was lucky because just as the cars drove into impound the skies opened up, and it rained hard for a bit. Besides a wet podium celebration all went well!
