VIR Majors

Sam, good luck on the 2:18s. I hope it doesnt rain on you. I was actually going to being wife Carolyn's VW so I was not bringing a knife to a gun fight, but neither car was quite ready so I withdrew. Hope everyone has a good race.

Sorry you and Carolyn won't be here. As far as 2:18's--you gotta aim for something!!

 Considering you've already been there, (quicker than my 18.8, which I thought was your record) I doubt it should be a problem for you.
Wet track notwithstanding of course.

Good luck to all of you.

I was aiming for the 16's but came up short. A 2:17.5 was the best I could do in qualifying. A new post-2014 record of 2:18.240 was the my best in Saturdays race. The track was just too hot and way too much oil for any fast times in Saturdays race and of course it rained Sunday.
I don't think the little British roadsters are as much of a knife at a gun fight as you say they are. If you look at the list of lap records there are a lot HP of records held by Spridgets and Spitfires. I don't expect to see a Spridget run up front at Daytona but they can be fast at a lot of tracks.

Will, for a lot of us the Runoffs track is the only track that counts. Wish I could afford to build a car just for the Runoffs track. There is only one track I've ever run on that favored small light cars, 2nd Creek, and it's now a ghost track.

Just heard from Sam Moore. He suffered the same transmission problem that I had many times.

His brain transmitted the signal to shift the transmission from third to fourth and his arm responded by putting it into second gear. I just hated when that happened.

Way to go Will Perry. Three races now in HP this year and three new track records.

I just looked and there are now over 350 entries for Daytona race next week. It's a SECS Runoffs qualifying race plus an ECR enduro. Lot's of great practice for the Runoffs.

We will also be looking at the tech area plan for the Runoffs. It's only 153 days until testing starts.
