Runoffs at COTA

We will be running the full F1 course unless we do not get enough workers to staff it.

About 60 just for the corners. Seems SCCA does not trust lights and cameras. Oh and it is hard for the camera or light to grab a fire extinguisher and respond to the car on fire.

But you knew that.

How will the handle the asphalt runoff like that in the Ss if someone puts four off at the apex? Do we run at other tracks were this possibility exists like it does at cota? Those touring guys will drive anywhere.

Spike strips, or that is the rumor I'm going to start.

Depend on the corner workers to call it in, and the stewards to react as appropriate. If that doesn't work and you feel you were passed improperly you have the option to protest. I would suggest you have video in your car.

tell racers they hired the guy that's been dropping the nails at MSRH's entrance for the last few years. the nails might be there, might not. are you going to take a chance with a $1000+ set of tires?

One of our biggest expenses is General Liability and lights reduce that cost significantly. Add lights and mandatory in car one way radio contact with control and you really get a break from the carrier.

Which is something I am surprised SCCA has not adopted. Most of the Saturday night roundy-round track did years ago.

IF we had 6 hours to spare in the schedule. Remember in March sunrise is 7:30am and sunset is 5:30pm.

6 30 minutes P&Q sessions 180 min
Lunch 90 (15 travel each way, hour for the workers to eat/relax)
6 35 (Predicted) races 210
subtotal 480 or 8 hours IF there are no delays or long clean up periods between races.

Sunrise is 6:45am and sunset 6:30pm according to the web. That schedule does not make best use of the time to keep entry costs down or give regional cars/drivers a chance to play. Hire workers if volunteers don't want to work a long day.
