Road Atlanta Majors, March 20-22

Registration is closed, but the Region has advised that they will NOT charge the late fee for anyone who has not registered. So, if you decide you want to race against some good prod cars, you can still enter at the same fee. It might take you a little longer to get through registration, but it won't cost you anything extra. And there is a qualifying session on Sat AM so you could just show up Sat AM and still qualify and race.

Mike, we don't have any choice about three day events. That's part of the Majors program unless the National office decide otherwise. But, Sebring was three day, right after holidays and had 360 entries.

Jim,

Sort of off topic here, but, if you are looking for feedback on the 3-day, double race weekend... I like it. I get twice the racing at half the tow cost/lodging costs. Two day doubles are too hard for those with few or no crew.

My $.02.

Thanks for all you do Jim.

The two day double is great as long as nothing goes wrong. There's almost no time to get things fixed and tried out before a race on a two day. Three day gives you day to shake down car. Heck, NOLA was a two day Majors, but almost everyone ran the test day on Friday at another $200 bucks.

But, I'm getting ready to leave for Road Atlanta where registration, tech and the paddock opens at 5 PM on a Wednesday. That's 5 days at the race track. Sure different than the old days where we left Atlanta at 6 PM on Friday night headed for St Louis or Mid Ohio. Drove back on Sunday night to be at work Monday AM. I got really good at sleeping at my desk while it looked like I was on the phone working.

He did. Got here late yesterday from the long round trip to pick it up. He was beat so he slept in the AM and started from the rear. He ran conservative and finished. He came by impound to just weigh but he was smiling.

A little birdie told me the Rob Horrell is driving a certain red and black CRX!

Indeed he dose. I was a the Loshak shop this afternoon. Did the same little birdie tell you about any other driver with a different car at Road Atlanta?
Have Fun Rob.

Rob,
Really? A roof? FWD? I thought I knew you man.......you need to hand in your LBC membership card, homey.

Lots of different faces in different cars this weekend

Rob in the Loshak Honda
Breton Williams in the JPM MX-5
Michael Kamalian in Kent's GTL Miata
Kannard in the hard top Miata
Ira in his IT car

Report from the track. Kip V blew up yesterday. Joe Moser crashed this morning. So the front row was gone before the race started. Jeffrey Cripe qualified 9th in EP and led overall at one point when Schader (T3 Nissan) did two 360s in Turn 12 and didn't hit anything. Cripe won EP in his BMW. Kannard won F. Will Perry in HP in his Honda with a new record by my figuring. Kamalian won GTL. Interestingly enough both of the Prather's former cars have been wrapped and look surprisingly alike. Williams broke a diff housing but will be back Sunday.

Copy of Sat I picked up this PM was final. Didn't look for Sun race. Wanted to start on points. SEDiv drivers running alternate path to Runoffs can count points from two SEDiv Majors events.

You forgot "Japanese"....

Yeeeeees, embrace the darkside of reliability....

Rob, you will do fine with your new Honda HP race car once you accept in your mind, in your heart and in your right foot the driving advice you have heard from several of the better Honda drivers - no matter what driving problem the track presents you at speed, the solution is always the same - Floor It.
Really, the transition from RWD to a FWD Honda isn't hard. A lot of us have gone through that change.
We were so glad to see you show up at Road Atlanta with the Runoff winning Honda. Too bad the fogged windshield prevented a better finish in the rain on Sunday. But that is easy to fix.

Yeah, I don't......have you tried a voodoo witch doctor? Maybe the Gods have been angered by you leaving the fast, newer, reliable, Japanese car you already had.

I got some bad mojo from the Chuckwalla salamander curse. But then again my prior experience at Fontana didn't go so well either. I need to re-access. Test day back in Dec at Buttonwillow was good, but not since then.
