Unfortunately I won't be able to make it again this year, but some great fields are shaping up! Lots of diversity in all of the Prod classes, which is great to see. The non-Miata's even out number the Miata's in FP! A whole lot of former IT-racers too!

149 entires at the moment, with three weeks to go and NOLA still to happen between now and then.......you'll be fine, Mr. Creighton!

Looking forward to the first outing for my new car. Should be fun. Wish you could make in Kevin. It would be nice to have another wrong wheel drive car in FP.

my car (the GTL entry) is kent and jesse prather's old car. I decided to keep it in GTL trim that kent ran last year. I hope more gtl's show up. Building my FP as i speak for the 2016 season.

BTW. Where are the LBC's for HP? Interesting to see what the weight changes will do. I have not driven R ATL but I here that it is a pretty good equalizer track.

I wanted to be there but with the winter we're having, the car hasn't been touched since October. Hopefully I'll make it there next year.

Real nice Prod groups shaping up. Wish it wasn't a 15 hour tow for me now... :(

At NOLA, it was mentioned that B-spec and T4 cars may get moved from the prod car group to the STU/L group to even out the numbers. Jim, can you comment on if that may happen or not? Right now, the Prod car group has 41 cars with 10 of them B-spec and T4 cars and the STU/L group has 13 cars.

We're going to talk about it more at the BOD meeting tonight. The series Chief Steward who is from NEDiv has said NO. But, we may ask again. Only problem it is moving drivers two groups later and someone may have made travel plans and we don't want anyone missing a flight. May ask the T4 guys, 5 of them, or the B spec, 5 of them and see if one group would consider moving to the 12 car group 7. Hard to plan since group 7 had 64 cars in 2014 and now has 12. Prod was smallest group in 2104 and now is largest. We will at least split the B spec and T4 cars if the majority want. That would help a lot.

It looks like a strong nine-car field in H Prod for Atlanta. Lots of winners in the field. And the possibility of a big surprise car showing up. With 43 cars in the group, I hope the little HP cars can find racing room. Going to be fun.

That should be interesting. Joe is stupid fast around there in an ITA car (1:41.2). Anyone seen Ed's car?

Looks like a big weekend coming for the prod guys at Atlanta. I'm still working on getting B spec moved. T4 can not move due to car/driver conflict.

BTW, Mr Kruck (you called me Mr. Creighton so I must be just as formal), Atlanta entries are down by 35 cars from 2014 while the two Florida Majors were up 20 % over 2014. Seventy-five SEDiv drivers went to NOLA including 45 from Florida getting their third needed Majors.

I've been counting numbers long enough to know when one race inserted in front of another will hurt.

Hopefully, the weatherman will be as correct as he was for NOLA where he predicted a 100% chance of rain on Sunday (it was a dry as could be all day).

I'll be at the track all day Thursday test day for anyone who needs an annual. Just come by tech and I'll come to you.

While the weather for the race itself was amazing, I drove through ran getting there from Houston and drove through 6hrs of it on the way home. It then rained ALL week back in Houston as well..
The weatherman was right on his prediction, just not on the timing. That said, I'll take towing in the rain over racing in the rain any day.

I am trying to simplify my Son's Transport from the airport to the track.
Does anyone live near the airport or is flying in Thurs Night?

Mike, what time Thursday night?

There is a bus that runs from downtown Atlanta up to the 2nd exit on I 985. If early enough, I can check the schedules or you can look at Gwinnett County Transit. He could catch the MARTA train to 5 points station downtown and then go catch the bus. It uses the HOV lanes so it seldom gets caught in traffic. Bus it like a Greyhound type bus.

And do you think being up against the Sebring 12-Hour again (it was a week off in 2014) has any effect? At NOLA at least five Florida drivers told me they had to skip Road Atlanta because of commitments to pro teams or CFR.

And how about STL being in Group 7? Doing that gives many of the double-dippers a reason to skip the event altogether (SM is down 22 entries from 2014 while STL is down 34).

I will admit giving FB their own run group did not measurably affect single-seat entries, though - currently 91 this year.

With all the stuff, I'd have been happy to get the same as 2014. If we figured we should get the same increase as the Florida races from the Runoffs being in SEDiv, we'd should have had 360. So, all things added in, we are down about 95 from Florida. Say 10 from Sebring 12 hr, 45 for NOLA, 20 SM for whatever reason and 20 STL and there's most of it.

But, our new Director of racing budgeted within ten cars of the entry now so we are fine on that part. As I have said before, it is what it is and you make it the best event you can for those who attend. Just think, the paddock will not be as crowded, there will be no long lines at registration, tech or for the social. And you have a better chance of being singled out for an Indy car ride and also the drawing for the full refund of your entry fee.
