Registration for the MARRS Labor Day Double is now open!

Just a reminder: for Summit Point races, any group over 40 cars should be two pace laps. Subject to change, as all things are, but "should" is the operative word. Grid workers will usually do their utmost best to carry a sign down the grid to alert all drivers (dependant on how short-handed grid might be at any time). Whoever's carrying the sign appreciates a thumb's-up or wave so they know you read the sign.

And if you're in a group that would like a split start, talk to the stewards early so T&S has time to make up proper grids and grid has time to retrieve them.

My apologies...I thought I was covering the classes of interest to this board. Are there any other's I've forgotten?

-Gregg (running HP this weekend)

See you all at the track!

Greg (Hp Greg, not FP Greg) - i was somewhat surprised when I saw the mylaps results and that the margin was .25 seconds at the line. Most fun I've had in a race car since I can remember. Congrats on the title -

Great weekend as always. This was my fifth Labor Day double in a row and it's always been my favorite.

The HP race on Monday was very good. Awesome to see the multi-car battles happening across the track. I tried my best to stay out of them so as to not upset the championship - it was that close.

Thank you to the region, volunteers and drivers. This was my first time running a full championship series and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Jesse did great in the SSM race. It started out rocky as he had to "develop" the car and that created a hole he had to dig out, but by the end of the weekend he was lapping as fast or faster than the leaders.

Gregg certainly used FWD to his advantage in the rain on Sunday. First HP win, right? Congrats!
It sure was...thanks a bunch, Greg. It was great running with you and the rest of the group this weekend.

I figured that when I started my rain dancing the first week of August that the skies just had to open up, if only for a little while. Just wish I had something for the real HP cars in yesterday's 20-lap feature, but I'll take that 3rd in the dry in Saturday's 12-lapper. After getting a killer start that had me up to 2nd (from 6th) for a while, I was just trying to hang on.

I'll get some video posted soon.

Check the thread you started on BCF, as I posted the last lap video. (the camera was nice enough to start a new file there) Yes... I was trying to scoot the car along faster when coming out of 10.

{edited to add link to video} last lap

Had a great time watching you guys race even in the rain! Went into town and ate at the Hollywood Casino then watched horse racing from the rail! Took lots of photos even in the rain ! Anybody got incar videos you can post? Thanks for the fun.Sprman : )

Thanks to everyone that came out, it was a spectacle.
It was a pleasure to finally meet Jesse Prather, he, Fred, and I had a nice chat on Saturday afternoon.
The Labor Day Double always seems to be the "Theater of the Weird" for me. It has its highs, and lows.
Poor Greg Roddy (FP Greg) had the misfortune of getting tangled up with rookie Steve Covington in qualifying. Steve had some brake issue going on and managed to lose it in the grass in T1 and collect Greg ending his weekend on the first session of the three day event.
Saturday's race was good, sadly, Phil Ackley broke a differential which caused a near melee on the start and I managed to net a second place in SPU.
Sunday's race was a rain race, which I did not participate in. Although it looked like the FWD guys were having some fun.
Monday's race started off great for me. I was 11th on the grid and before the first lap was over I managed to work my way up to 3rd. However on Lap 2, I ran out of talent in the braking zone for T1 and spun into the gravel. Apparently, the DC Region no longer does "hot pulls" because I was left to sit in the gravel for the remaining 18 laps. The great folks in EV said when they pulled me out after the race was over that it would have been an easy pull in a hot track. No one in the tower could tell me why I was left in the T1 gravel trap for the remaining 18 laps. Pretty disappointing. Although I did get to watch Nagy and MacQueen have a great race from the comfortable seat in my race car.

Congratulations to our MARRS Champions:
FP Fred McConnell
HP Greg Nagy
GTP Bruce Shelton
