I believe 8 cars disqualified in total. According to what was posted it has to do with the plunge cut in the throat (SCCA gives a depth and diameter dimension, but doesn't say how it can be done) and the allowed plunge cut extends into the short side radius of the port (which the rules say can't be modified). It sounds like guys were using the excuse of 'deburring' the machining operation for the allowed plunge cut to smooth the transition from the short side radius into the throat. Reading the rules, you can't do one without doing violating the other. Maybe the rules were written intentionally vague so this area could be exploited? Rumor on the other site is going forward this area will be addressed as they (the SCCA) feels this is what most are running. No different than how Prod and Sedan got to where they did... too many people exploit a grey area and SCCA can't do anything but make it legal...
At least that's how I interpret it.

How has anyone passed over what Jim Daniels was saying about someone sneaking in and changing the suspension settings on cars in the Mazda tent?!
