It's good to see Mike Hart back out with the Turner! Go fast and drive safe. :)

I chatted with Mike at a Blackhawk track day a month ago with it being his first time out. Great guy looking forward to more fun. :applause:

I think Mid Ohio has location going for it. It's close enough for the north east racers to attend, while still being close to the upper midwest racers. Road America is too far for most north east racers to go to in the middle of the season.

The region does not pick the date (OVR) for the race - we are handed the dates we get for the year. OVR picks up the motorhome/camping fees from Mid-Ohio. Other races at MO have (and still do) let each person pay that fee at the gate.

Thanks to everyone coming to Mid-Ohio this weekend. Should be a great event!

First time to Mid-Ohio and I found the track very busy and over all a lot of fun. I can say this, "Rain isn't what you want to see the first time around."

First time here, pretty darn technical track. Great venue and everyone has been very helpful to make us feel at home. Hopefully I'll get the hang of the turns that gave me fits today.

Best part of the trip is the stop at SloMotion Thursday. Cory really woke the Honda up.

Sunday: http://cms.scca.com/documents/Club_Even ... esults.pdf

Had a good time. Missed Saturday qual and started last, drove patiently and moved up to 6th. Broke trans in Q1 for Sunday, but Tony Rivera fixed it and Greg Schnell helped me put it back in. Got up to second and stayed on Kevin until his car really came in on the third lap or so. I had a series of situations that allowed those pesky Loti to get up to and then around me. Battled with Peter for the second half of the race, doing everything I could to keep him behind at the finish.

Thanks for the good event. Wish I could have gotten around and spent some more time hanging out with more people. Glad to have been back at Mid-Ohio! Congrats to Kevin for the wins and everyone for the good racing!

On to the Sprints.

The race weekend was a pleasure, probably one of the more competitive prod groups in a long while at Mid-O. My hats off to James Rogerson, he wheeled the hell out of his car and was a quick study of the track. We were nose to tail both races, and he edged me by a whisker in each event. In Sunday's race my bobble on lap 17 and James nailing it at the same time allowed a pass at the end straight, and our gearbox lost 3rd in T8 as I was chasing him. Learned a lot with that unfortunate event though, just rolling through the corners lugging in 4th I was less than 1/2 a second off my best lap in the next circuit. WTF?!! Guess I have to re-think how I drive when the motor is making a lot of racket and I'm not pissed off. lol. Barry and Kevin B. were also keeping good pace in H as well but each had a mechanical issue in one of the races.

It was good to see everyone...

that was a fun and frustrating weekend for me. Car was running great and was able to lead Saturday's race for 11 or 12 laps than as I went up over the hill in 8 my car decided to shut off. the problem was James, Kevin and Matt were all right on my tail. I pulled over as far as I could and closed my eyes hoping they wouldnt plow into me. I was shocked I was able to lead some great drivers and cars for that long.

the car came back but developed a stuter/miss under load so stayed out to finsih fourth. Changed a dozen things on the car to fix the issue and went out to qualify Sunday and the stutter/miss was still there. Figured wasnt hurting the motor so decided to go ahead and race Sunday. Go out for the race and the stutter/miss was gone!!!! have no idea what is going on. Kevin and I had a great race for the first half of the race, nose and tail swapping postions until his Diff gave up on him.

Was a blast on track while my car was running, was great racing in a field with so many great cars and drivers.

Thanks to OVR/Cinci for putting on a great weekend!!

Have to say this was a great weekend. Met some really great racers and competitors and now friends. Both days were the hardest I've had to drive in a long time. Mid-Ohio is totally busy all the time and it punishes you for making mistakes. Matt, Barry and Kevin welcomed me in the paddock and then gave me a lesson or two on track. Saturday I think I surprised them a little, but Sunday the game was really on from the start to the finish. I got an early lead and then when a couple of cars went off around 9, 10 and 11 the rescue truck came out and I flinched. Matt jumped by me and he led me around until I got the word that there was 5 to go. With a little help from traffic I made up some distance and then I just decided to try going through a couple of turns up a gear and it paid off with a 1:46.1 to get behind Matt at the corkscrew and for once I nailed it and had the run on him to make the pass at the end of the straight. He fell off (gear box) but I was afraid he was going lull me to sleep and kept the pace up until the checkered.

By far my most memorable races to date in HP.

Funny side note, on Saturday I was battling along behind Barry and Kevin when this X19 came up behind us. Thinking it was an FP car I pointed him by after almost hitting him in my blindspot. As he drove by I saw an "H" on the side. Matt should have heard me yelling at myself for being so STUPID! Luckily things worked out and I was able to get by the crowd late in the race. Again, what a great track and great HP group. Already planning on going back.

Did an AIM install before going up to Mid-Ohio. Stopped at SlowMotion and got the Hondata tuned. Now have plenty of dyno video and ZERO race video since we filled up the card at the shop. Now I only have personal playback and Matt's upload. Have to learn to use new equipment before you go on track. Write that 100 times, James!

Anybody know if they have pictures anywhere of the podium celebrations? I know there was a photographer there but didnt see anything on the SCCA site.

I have several pictures of the HP guys. I sent some to James and will send him the rest as soon as i get a new mother board that crashed yesterday.

Barry, i just got new computer and sent pictures to Rogerson. He will send them to you. I have several good shots of you getting your trophy.

Jeff Loewe has uploaded all of his pictures from the OVR/Cincy double national:
Saturday - http://www.jlofoto.net/#/gallery/2011ju ... champions/

Sunday - http://www.jlofoto.net/#/gallery/2011ju ... champions/

OVR will be holding our next Board meeting in two weeks and reviewing our double national, so if there are any thoughts, concerns, praise, issues, etc that you would like to bring to my attention, I will be sure to get them back to the rest of our Board so we can help make our 2012 event even better. Thanks.
