KVRG R/N/IT Tour - July 16 -17 - HPT

I figured I would start a thread for the R/N/IT at HPT on July 16-17.

I found that they are also doing a MidDiv Solo on the south paddock this same weekend. They are also doing a Club Trails on Saturday. Sounds like a busy weekend at the track.

Based on the Sup Regs. they are going to use the 2.2 mile Intermediate course which by-passes the turn 5, 6, 7 leg of the track.

I plan on coming down for the regional and national if the river does not rise any higher. The way it looks right now, it is requiring me to do about a 60 mile detour each way due to the flooding.

Since it looks like they are by passing turn 6. I am wondering what I should run for gearing.

Current set up is:

1st - 1.8:1
2nd - 1.38:1
3rd - 1.154:1
4th - 1:1

I am thinking about going to a 1.68:1 first but think that may be a little hard to get rolling in the paddock.

Ron you coming?

So far it's just me in FP. That's no fun! Anyone else coming in FP? I know Henry, Weber, Steflik, Bramlage are all out. Don't know about Rick. Frank you coming? Randy W?

I planed on it now I am not going to make it down. I found a major crack in the bell housing last weekend. I was installing a stock transmission back in the car last night but my back really started hurting so I had to stop. This back has really been holding me back this year. I wonder if I can talk the CRB into give my back a in season upgrade or does that make me a Prep Level #1.

I got a back upgrade before the 2006 Runoffs. Actually it was an upgrade by subtraction (of a disc). I feel your pain. Not fun.

Sorry you won't be at HPT.

For all you folks that know me or my son Daniel. Daniel turns 17 on thursday and Jeff and I are going to surprise him with cake and maybe ice cream saturday night so swing by and have a bite of cake espicall y you HEROS of Daniel(JPM), it would make it a really good day for him. He is at Band Camp in Weatherford,Oklahoma til friday then we are heading up. Jeff's HP engine is still at the machine shop so all we have is the CF.
Keith Voyles :boohoo:

Keith, Is the surprise going to be at the Saturday night social? [Do they still have a social under the awning?] I'll be showing up sometime Saturday afternoon. Peter

Anybody besides me been on weather.com? Sunday's high is predicted to be 106 degrees! Real degrees not heat index. The prod race will be mid/late afternoon when the heat is the worst.

I'm usually okay to 100 and gungho to around 95. However I spend all this time and money for fun........ AND a 106 degree race that will undoubtedly be shortened for safety does not sound like that much fun.

I'm going to see if the forecast changes and make a last minute decision on attending. Please everyone, workers, crew, and drivers be safe this weekend.

OK, I'm back in. Good thing I didn't unload the trailer. Just a few hours later Weather Channel has revised the forcasted high from 106 to 98. Another 8 degree drop would be nice but 98 works. Sorry I was such a Wimp.

Pretty decent numbers for small bore, except FP. I can't believe nobody else is coming :(

Maybe Doc Smith will show up? :)

Spoke to Rick Monday. Not this time. He's changing jobs and it sounds like we've probably seen his car for the last time this year.

dang prill... what'd you do, run everyone off?

Was it something I said???

See Eric, I told you that your move from 58th to 11th in the National points in the month of June would scare off all the other competitors. But, what do I know?

Hope everyone has fun this weekend. I kind of miss going to Heartland Park for the Runoffs. I know the track had some draw backs, but the facility was so good & the people at Topeka always treated us so nice. And I miss the ribs at Pat's Bar b que. Good food and friendly people. A rack of ribs there meant a full take home meal. Drool!

Oh well, I'm off to Road Atlanta for a Double SARRC/ECR/Pro IT & PDX this weekend. All combined, we have about 265 entries.

We left as the final few qual. laps were going on. Man, was it HOTTTTTTT!! 112 to 117 on the pvement, had a IT drivers get Heat stroke but was doing ok.
Keith
