Rains are a few years old but tons of tread and no cracks.

Yes, Aaron doesn't believe in rain tires!! Glad to see you're signed up, know you'll be fast!

i assume these are rain tires. they have directional grooves similar to my street tire but are marked "for racing only"

at some point i need to get the H20's

Great weekend. It was a bit hotter than expected.

Thanks to All the help (Bax, Steel, Cypher and a few others who i didn't catch names) for the help changing the head gasket on sunday morning. Wouldn't have been able to make it out for the morning session without all that support.

next up at the end of the month!

forgot to mention.

most fun of the weekend was race two working through the field from the back and going 3 wide with Mason and Simmons into turn 6, and then side by side with mason through madness (with me on the outside), turn 8 and turn 9 before i got around.

I'll post some video shortly.

Agreed - what a blast. Rob Bax and I secured rides in very underwhelming Spec Miata's which we entered in FP. In keeping with SM (and my own) tradition, I immediately ran into Rob......on the false grid.

After the race actually started I found myself racing hard against an EP Prelude. Aaron caught both of us on the backstraight and made it three wide on the entry to 6. I literally had thoughts of Harry Gant's role in Days of Thunder as I was stuck in the middle. Thankfully, The Prelude was on the brakes before Aaron and I leaving us plenty of room at the exit. Aaron and I then stayed side by side until thunder valley when he completed the pass.

Good fun in only my second time in a car this year.

let's not forget in my little moment at pit out in the sunday morning qualifying session!

the story behind it. Just got the car put together and was late for the session...released from false grid and was going down pit lane...pretty quickly as i was almost a lap down.

right as i got to the pit out...i see the worker pull the red flag. i was on new cold tires...and they locked almost immediately...and there i was...stopped sideways at pit out :)

woops...but i waited for them to release me!

you don't think 3 wide through madness would have worked?

that's from a gopro hero 3. The quality is really good. i can actually see the gauges now!

in the qualifying video i didn't realize how close that SRF #44 came to sideswiping me :?

i put my iphone in the trunk with harry's lap timer and it's linked to the gopro and turns everything on at start finish first time by.
