Ron,

I can't locate my Machinery's Handbook........can you see if you can find anything on a straight steering shaft spline as follows: 31 teeth for the whole circumberence, OD is .532" ......could be metric but this is 13.5mm. Shaft could have been designed in Japan in about 1979. You da man.

Thanks, Jay

Jay,

Not an SAE standard. Forget typical power transmission suppliers.

You're at the mercy of the golf cart suppliers.

What class does that run in?

RJS

Thanks Ron and others. I was afraid of that..........I'll just buy an adapter from Grant as suggested.

There are other adapters out there, billet type stuff, but they are pricey. I'm a cheapskate so I went with the Grant piece.

Jay, If you still have the orignal steering wheel you can make your own adapter. I have done this a couple of times on my carts. Cut all the old plastic away from the center and you should find a steel hub. Now take this piece an machine it down to a barrel like part. I cut a shoulder on the outter end to center on, then fab a nice flange, then just weld to two together. You can make the flange as big as needed for your wheel. I'm cheaper than you are I bet. Hope this helps.

Dave,

I doubt it.

I thought of that initially and even called a local cart upgrade shop to see if they had any old Yamaha steering wheels that they could sell me. Given that..........does anyone have one? Yes I could just hack up mine....but then there is no going back. Also, if it's not steel I may not be able to weld on it. A guess a magnet could tell me it it's steel or not.
