Portland lap records

That FP record would go away in a heartbeat with a competitive car. It should be around 1:25. Also not that the times with out the chicane should be 10 seconds less than with. The "box" doesn't like straights above 110 MPH. G

Gordon,
Past records had you at a 27.895 in FP in 2005 on the chicane course. Is this incorrect?
Actually, the non-chicane records are all faster in the old records. Did something change?

In 2008 they changed a segment on the back side of the track and repaved. They started keeping new records after the change. I think the track is slightly longer and the exit to the back straight is tighter. The new paving provided so much more grip that the chages did not effect the lap times that much.

Ken is correct. The new configuration of turn 6-7 changet the track a little. My times with the new track were way slow as I had a very weak engine in the car at the time. G
