All,
I am trying to find an old race car that was owned by my father who passed away in February. My son and I thought it would be cool to find and maybe race the car again.
The car was a 1968 Austin Healey Sprite but we raced it as an MG Midget which was a more popular and current car at the time. We ran in the NE Ohio Region of SCCA mostly at Nelson Ledges and Mid-Ohio but also Blackhawk and IRP.
Dad sold the Sprite in the summer of 1983 to Tom Carter and Ed Sisley from Galion, Ohio. These guys told us in 1984 (or maybe 1985) that they sold the car to someone who had planned on running it in the Pike’s Peak Hill Climb. That’s the last we heard of it.
The car was gold when we had it but was later professionally repainted a dark blue/silver paint scheme. Note the pop-riveted on fiberglass flares and extra high roll bar.
I know it’s a long shot but I’m hoping somebody can fill in the last thirty plus years and help us find this car!
