MyLaps runoffs "section times"

I was looking for something on mylaps, and noticed the runoffs are posted.

Under those results, there's a new column labelled "section times."

I believe they're "section avg MPH" instead- anyone have any idea what that data represents? I'd like to piece together my hypothetical fastest lap, were I a rockstar.

Hey Ron - I'm familiar with the SCCA pdf files - turns out the data is the same but represented somewhat differently. Thanks for the reminder.

The MyLaps columns are as follows:

1) Split MPH at start/finish (Same as "S1" column in the SCCA PDF)
2) Average MPH from the S1 split to the T4 split (SCCA column "S2" divided by PDF-specified distance of 1.24643308)
3) Split MPH at T4 (Same as "S3" column in the SCCA PDF)
4) Average MPH from the T4 split around to S/F (SCCA Column "S4 TM" divided by PDF-specified distance of 2.75620265)

So, it's the same data but all columns are MPH - two of which are missing from the SCCA PDF file...

... so, to find your best theoretical time, from the SCCA PDF file, find the fastest from each of the S1 TM, S2 Tm, S3 Tm, and S4 Tm columns, and then add those four together.

You can also do the math if you like: To get your best theoretical time, take each column's best MPH, divide by the distance at that section.
Code:
Description Length(Miles) Sector
Start/Finish to S/F 0.02272727 S1
Spd S/F Spd to T4 Spd 1.24643308 S2
T4 Spd to T4 0.02283775 S3
T4 to S/F 2.75620265 S4

Looks like I was .392 off from putting all the sectors together during the race. Another four seconds and I'll be right there :)

Bill,
There are two things I examine when looking at this type of data. First, the difference between your actual best lap and your theoretical best lap reflects your overall driving ability at that track. Consistency of lap times also reflects this. Second, the segment with the widest variation in times is the segment you need to address first. Those variations show that you haven't figured out the best way through that section of track yet. Try and remember what you did on the laps with the lowest times. Maybe you stayed in a lower gear rather than upshift and immediately have to downshift. Or maybe you shifted earlier than normal. What we think is the fast way around isn't always the fast way. Good luck finding those 4 seconds.

The time charts for the qualifying sessions are all MPH like MyLaps so you would have to do the math on them also.
