I'm selling the transmission out of my MX5 racecar. It is a Barrington Performance Hewland conversion into a stock case. These gears can be used in a Miata, RX7, or late model MX5 5 speed transmission. For a Miata or RX7, a new input shaft from Barrington Performance would have to be sourced, no big deal. 1:1 top gear straight through transmission, pit gear in original reverse position, reverse in original 5th position. Makes a great H pattern 4 speed for on track use. Hewland MK 4/5 gears, custom ratio's with Elkhart Lake in mind, can easily be changed to any ratio. All new gears before runoffs, made 1.5 qualifying sessions before I had an engine problem. I have had no problem with this transmission and it shifts and works flawlessly. A fantastic transmission for a rotary engine, GTL, EP, FP Miata, track day car, whatever.
New these are $6500. Selling mine for $5000 in like new condition.
