For the second year in a row, the Pacific Coast Road Racing Championships will crown the “fastest in the West” as this unique event invites racers from all sanctioning bodies to challenge themselves to see who is the fastest road racer in the West.

The history of the PCRRC goes back quite a few years, and with all the various sanctioning bodies putting on Championship events that are toward the eastern part of the Country, Cal Club re-birthed the PCRRC with the unique twist of making the event independent of Sanctioning Body. NASA racers, Vintage Racers, Porsche Racers, SCCA Racers, Stock Car Racers, you name it, you can race it.

With some careful tabulation of published race results at a common West Coast track, organizers grouped cars with similar lap times together to for competitive run groups. Last years event showed that this concept worked well… A Vintage Lotus Super-7 ran competitively with a NASA/SCCA Spec Miata. This is what it is all about.

The 2012 event will be held on October 27-28 at Buttonwillow Raceway Park in South Central California. The Track will hold a test day on Friday with racing on Saturday and Sunday. Format will include Qualifying races on Saturday with Championship races on Sunday.

Again, this is NOT and SCCA event. Cal Club is only providing the organization and the volunteer track workers. Expect a great social Saturday night, local media coverage, and a weekend of racing that will be unlike any other experienced this year.
