This car is an SCCA ITB racecar, but would also be a good candidate for either vintage or production racing as well. It was extensively rebuilt around 2003-2004, ran several races in the MARRS series and was parked after blowing an engine at VIR in 2009 (car is not running now but rebuilt stock short block is included). Good paint, body is extremely solid, rust-free and straight (only one minor ding on right side). Good 1.75” welded cage. Other good stuff:
• SCCA log book
• Kirkey aluminum road race seat with I-O Port brace
• Autometer gauges, EGT on all four cylinders
• New stock Volvo electrical harness for fuel injection and other electrical
• 15 gallon ATL cell with ATL “Black Box” surge tank and pump
• All stainless braided fuel/oil lines
• VPD baffled oil pan
• BHP header and 2.5” exhaust with Dynomax bullet
• BHP aluminum three-puck clutch
• 4.33 rear with Truetrac limited slip diff.
• BHP Carrera-based front suspension, custom Eibach/ adjustable Koni rear suspension.
• BHP Panhard Rod
• BHP adjustable sway bars
• Replaced all front suspension & steering linkage bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends.
• Hawk HT-10 pads in front
• One set of 15 x 6” Revolution wheels and several Volvo turbo alloys.
Junk tires and safety harness is out of date.
It just needs engine replaced and should be ready to go but of course should be cleaned up and checked thoroughly before going on track. We spent a ton of money and time on it and we were just getting the car sorted out when the engine let go and we decided to go back to being VW guys. The updated rear suspension setup was a big improvement over the BHP setup when we switched to the limited slip diff.
Spares: Heads, transmissions, several bins of various new and used stock replacement parts (engine parts, wheel bearings, ball joints, U-joints, etc.) Rare correct spare ’71 MAP sensor and computer. Also, a race-prepped (dual-valvespring) carbureted head that could work for Prod or vintage. Everything Volvo-related we have goes with it…
