FOR SALE: HP Spridget, Previous GP car, qualified on pole at runoffs in ’83, finished 2nd, 3rd, 4th over 4 year span. Not used for past 10 years. Never bent. Recommissioned by Craig Chima for 75 year old driver to run two weekends. Check You Tube video: “Nelsons Ledges 9/17/23”.
Car is now more powerful and better handling than it was in the ‘80s.
Powered by dry-sumped 1098cc engine with Carrillo rods and billet crankshaft. Crank Trigger ignition with MSD, Jones-Motorola Chronometric tachometer.
Three different sets of carbs, 1.25”, 34mm, 1.5”.
Tunneled exhaust system.
Dog clutch gearbox with carbon fiber racing clutch.
5 locked rear ends with different ratios.
Bulletproof rear axle assembly, two piece half shafts, double-row single bearing hubs.
Double A arm front suspension, two Huffaker anti-roll bars
Watts link rear suspension, custom anti-roll bar
4 wheel disc brakes, new master cylinders
Coil-overs all around with brand new front shocks, selection of springs
SCCA approved single roll hoop for less frontal area. Full cage has been in the car since first built in ’77.
