Hoosier Rain tire options?

What do you guys think about SM DOT rains for an EP RX7? Worth the cost savings? A lot cheaper... also a lot slower??? Are Dirt Stockers still a viable option and if so which model? Hope this isn't a FAQ just getting back into this.

Thanks!
Steven

We ran a nasty wet race this weekend, and the SM guys were turning some pretty fast times on the new Hoosier H2O tires. They couldn't say enough good stuff about them. on that note, an SM driver double-entered in EP and won the small bore race.

The H2O is supposed to be awesome. It's what I plan to go to when my size is available.

I was in the pits for the Continental Challenge race at Daytona this year, saw a fwd car come off the track after an hour on the Continental rains, and they were in excellent condition. At least 45 mins of that time there was a dry line and at the end the track was pretty thoroughly dry. I was amazed how well they held up. The Hoosier H2Os are allegedly the same tire. Very impressive.

Thanks everyone. I ordered a set of the SM (205-50-15) H2O's. Debated about the 225-45's but since I was on the fence I let $300 cheaper do the talking.

Hopefully I won't get to try them out any time soon. :)

The SM-H20's are MUCH better than dirt stockers. Did I say "MUCH", well that's an understatement. If you can run 15's that would be the tire of choice, especially if cost is a factor.
