Jamie Blust is now running Dave Lemon's ex-MazdaTrix RX7. I saw it at Jesse's Shop over the winter with a new paint job and likely some JPM magic. Probably be extremely fast. Jamie if you read this, I have a jacket of yours you left at Jesse's shop - I'll bring it to HPR.

I have been told that Matt Reynolds is making the drive - I've also been told Jesse and Eric are not going to make it out - I'll let them say one way or the other. I imagine John Longwell will be there but haven't heard either way.

Hingston got his transmission back in last night - from the pix I saw the installation process was somewhat painful :)

I sat out most of last year for money and other interests. Here's my entire 2013 season (all 1.2 laps) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HxdpZSV54PA&list=UU_F8yIPb0jR9gfRCBfa4hSw

We're in the first carport on the end - stop by and say hi over the weekend. With the Majors program raising prices and reducing track time, this may be your last opportunity :)

Thanks Bill, I will pick the coat up Saturday
no expectations next weekend, If Matt comes I hope not to get lapped :D
I need to learn how to drive the car.....and not like a midget / spitfire

Sorry Jerry. This is the SCCA majors program: if you want an accurate list, that'll be $10 extra!

(All kidding aside sorry, I updated the list)

List updated as of 5/28.

I still don't see John Longwell entered - he won at the Cali majors yesterday - not sure if he's coming to CO this week or what.

$100 more expensive Nationals with less racing time on Saturday. Cant' count an out-of-division race.

Nope, not so impressed. Someone must be!

For anyone coming out - they've just moved T2 into the prod/GTL group - I assume to accommodate another double dipper.

If you'd like to send an eMail requesting the groups be restored to what was published in the sups, you can do so to

barrett.braun@gmail.com

Or, you can hope they don't change the groups at your events.

Bill,

Sent my letter of a couple of days ago when I got wind of the change. The grouping goes against GCR regs. Not happy, but it is their sandbox. I don't think anything is going to change their minds short of most of the group pulling out and taking a refund before putting a wheel on track. They understand dollars, not common sense. I am all for accommodating double dippers, when the cars being moved into a group are of like size and performance. But that is not the case here, and it wasn't the case at Eagles Canyon.

Both the Lotus and the midget/sprites give up approx 2,000 pound to the T2 cars are about a 3rd their size. Kind of like taking a shifter cart on the highway during rush hour....not a very good idea. But hey the club gets another $500 in entry fees for the double dip, so it must be a good idea :liar:   :snooty:

Bill I'll just keep saying it: When the good drivers start leaving SCCA, it's dead. It's going to happen very quickly when it happens.

SCCA Majors race ths weekend at Blackhawk Farm. Their not seeing the true picture, but then maybe we don't know the big picture.

This is a very sad count for a National race at the Farm, say nothing about the super duper Majors race. Also the overall count is low. Hope the sponsoring regions don't loose their a$$.

Quick report as we have stuff to fix.

Track is a little slower. Not sure if it's new berms or what. Matt went 1;59.5 in quali which is As second slower than last year

We are on year old sticker 100 compounds -- plus not driving for a year and a half so I was happy qualifying at 2:01.9. About 2 seconds off where we normally run. Good enough for second.

T2 had cars sandwiched between Matt and I so we asked for a split start.

Was hoping to run w Matt for a couple laps...

Between quali and race I developed a spectacular short. Car would not start so I got a push and started DFL. Tried to move up but the car just shuts off on full throttle.
Managed to get a finish. Trying to decide if we're fixing or heading home.

Matt won handily. I think Hingston won FP.

Could not fix it and came home. Started the car and went to grid for the race. Car would not start on the grid. Started at the back with a push start. Picked off 10 or so cars, got to the back straight and the car died. Anything over half throttle and the thing died - so I just motored around and took a finish.

Good luck everyone. See you at pueblo with a bunch of new wires!

Jerry won HP yesterday. Just giving him top billing for a change.

Turned out my new load-tested battery developed an internal short between starting the car in the paddock and starting the car on the grid for the race. We could have run Sunday as we had a spare battery. I was so consumed by thinking I'd done some thing wrong with the wiring and because I'd had the battery tested, I never thought about swapping to the backup.

I've been wanting to redo some of the wiring anyway so I'll take the time now since Rick Harris and I chopped out a bunch of stuff on Saturday.

See you in Pueblo.

Glad you got your problem sorted out Bill.

Congratulations to Reynolds, Halbrook, and Ruse on sweeping the podium spots in EP all weekend. I probably post this every year, but that is is my favorite track to date. I had a great weekend even though my clutch slipped going up the hills. I hope it's not torn up too badly and I have something left for Pueblo. Kosdrosky had some mechanical issues as well. All in all a fantastic weekend, thanks for the great hospitality, and the wonderful weather. Hope to see everyone in Pueblo!
