heat shielding for fuel lines?

My supply and return fuel lines both travel right next to my dry sump tank.

I'm looking at some sort of heat shield tubing, but before I spent a ton of money thought I'd get a second opinion on this stuff.

Anyone have any good experience with these sort of products?

Here's one from Pegasus for $22.

And here's one from summit for $43.

(I'm planning on running separate shielding for each line, so the price is double that listed)

Thanks for any thoughts,

I think Kevin's stuff is the same as the product I use. Didn't know it was widely available outside race circle. Thanks.

In counterpoint, Smokey Yunick (more than a few years back) got good results from heating fuel. Now, this may have been carbureted and higher vaporization temperatures. But he did get a HP increase due, he said, to better atomization.

I have used shielding from DEI on fuel lines in my GM motorhome that liked to vapor lock. There is a less expensive version that is not a tube but ratherer a flat section folded over with an exposed sewn seem. It works fine unless there is a cramped space. At Summit it is $17 and change for the size that you reference in a 3' length. I think it gives a little more airspace between the sheild and the line which is good for insulation:
