Recertification of any SFI spec product is NOT required by SCCA.
This was announced emphatically at this November's NEDiv Mini-Con by members of the SCCA BOD during an open forum session. Any items listed in the GCR as needing to meet an SFI standard will not need to be recertified to stay in compliance even if recertification is required as part of the SFI standard.

While I think I know what they are saying, there are so many holes and wrong ways to take this statement that I would not want it circulated.
It could be inferred by the above statement that SFI 16.1 seat belts (good for two years) have NO expiration date.
This ranks right up there with Ronald Reagan saying on national television "Facts are stupid things." Which he did actually say and regretted it for years.
My hope is that the person or persons making this statement were referring only to Head and Neck Restraints.
