Gateway Driver's School and Club Races

Do sign up online soon if you plan to come. You don't have to pay til you get there if that's an issue. This event will be held for sure, but could use a few more entries.
And I know they can use a few more workers as well.

St. Louis is a very hospitable group. [You can sign up now and pay at the door with cash, check, or charge.]

Ask anyone who has come over for a race - the people are nice. We'll see you this weekend! - Peter

If anybody is coming to the Gateway race think about the CRE program. It is a great way to introduce new or past driver back into the seat, also a great way to get crew members or the people who pay the bills to try out racing. Please think about it. This could be a great program to get more people into racing.
Thanks Chuck Mathis

The CRE Chuck is talking about is the 2-year old program "Club Race Experience". Think of this as a separate race group for low/medium horsepower IT, Prod, GTL, SM type cars where you have to race VERY safe - like Vintage rules. "You Spin, You Come In".

For "CRE" the driver does NOT NEED a license; nor a medical; nor a logbook; nor an annual tech; nor a HANS (although suggested). CRE is a "low barrier to entry" program started by SCCA's Board to get people to try Club Racing without all of the normal hoops.

It's a cheap way to let someone else TRY YOUR RACE CAR! [For safety, no V-8s and no Formula cars. I think SRFs are allowed.] Peter

Ralf,
All clear. No construction around Gateway. From I-70 you will get to use the new Stan Musial Bridge which bypasses most of the congested riverfront area.
See you this weekend.
Peter

I know I should read more.... Does this event count towards runoffs through the non majors prog?

Yes.

Plus this season, instead of a band, Sam is going to sing karaoke. Come to St. Louis and see THAT happen. - Peter
