So here's the deal on Gateway…..
Those folks in St. Louis and Southern Illinois Regions are crazy about finding new ways to go racing…. Ten years ago they had a road race at Gateway under the lights, (the same month NASCAR paid to turn on the lights).
Anyway, St. Louis and SIR will have a double divisional road race on Saturday Aug 23, with a Gateway test day on Friday Aug 22. Normal Gateway 1.65 mile road course, just two complete races on one day.
Then ….. If we get 30 reservations for Sunday, we will run oval races on the 1.3 mile oval course. If not, we'll thank everyone for coming and send them home Saturday night after some snacks and trophies.
The St. Louis and Southern Illinois Region race groups try hard to make things fun, and they try hard to promote the best in Club Racing. They also do Alternative Driver's Schools at any of the Friday test days. [We can even do Alternative Driver's Schools at non-SCCA events. JUST ASK US! - That's right, a driver's school anytime you need one.]
