Freedom Sprints Super Tour July 2-3

Registration has been open for a week or two. http://coloradoscca.motorsportreg.com
Got the boy scouts doing an honor guard, flag presentation and Anthem.
We have a Professional announcer for both days so make sure you do something spectacular (and unwarranted) so you get a mention. Booked the Karaoke show for the Saturday night BF Goodrich Tires Inc party. Mazda (aka Suzuki) John has committed to a full set. I have wintesses. Breckenridge is supplying multiple kegs.
Thinking about Friday night party as well. Karaoke practice and qualifying ??? Get into one of the kegs?? Have a couple grills and do a brats and dogs thing with pot luck sides???

Event shirts, swag, victory laps, commemorative checkered flags, Podium celebrations for each class with Champagne spray.

The weather shaman has been offered three live chickens.

 Damn you guys... Just so I wouldn't be tempted to make the trip I took the car apart on Sunday. :frustrated: If this would have been a Miller I would have gone for sure, but High Plains is just a bit to far.

High Plains is one of my favorite tracks. I had family, work and equipment issues that needed tending or I'd be there.

What a great track! I will be back, certainly the most fun track I've run at. Wish I could have shown up on the race results somewhere. My fuel cell foam had it's revenge, I went out to qualify and blew the motor. I had R&R'd the fuel cell bladder and ran lean, my best guess some cell foam cloged my fuel pickup.

Congratulations to Guy Ruse and Ken Pike for their great showing. There was no catching Guy! I really appreciate all the hospitality, great party, and it was really nice meeting Karl, Guy, and Ken. They really know how to put on a race!!

Happy 4th to all!

Another bad weekend. I think the black cloud is a permanent fixture
We did not take the Spitfire, it is still being repaired from the issues at the sprints.
We arrived with the Midget with a goal of 2 starts and 2 finishes
Saturday was rough....the car was over heating, I barely made it half way,
after some repairs Saturday night we had high hopes for Sunday. In the 3rd lap of qualifying coming out of turn two the rear suspension broke. Unable to repair. VERY frustrating sesaon so far but we will keep plugging away. If the midget is fixed in the next 2 weeks we will go to Topeka July 17. If not we will be at Salt Lake in August. Hope this cloud goes away....Still need 3 more starts / finishes with time ticking away :boohoo:

Paul, it was a pleasure meeting you. Glad you liked the circuit. We will continue to improve and grow the infrastructure as revenue allows. All the credit for a great event and dinners goes to my wife Michelle, who worked so hard to plan and carry off the event. I just cook, carry, and provide an occaisional song and dance.

Jamie, the cloud will lift, mine took a while but we finally saw some daylight Sunday with a good run and podium finish. Friday testing was the first time the motor ran outside the shop. We worked cooling issues all weekend and made improvements. The car handled progressively worse Friday and Saturday AM but we attributed it to old tires and maybe a little toe out and continued to pursue motor tuning. What we found out after Sat qualy was a very bad RF ball joint and no replacement at the track. Missed the Sat race but got the car fixed in the afternoon, and got it as ready as possible for the Sun race. Ken who was to drive Sat would drive Sun. We had a good race with Ken managing the car, temps and though handling was vastly improved, brakes and handling have far to go. We are very happy with the motor and know more is there when we can get to the dyno a few times. With attrition and a great drive by Ken including a last lap move to 3rd after a slight bobble by Ragonetti in T1 we got to spray some champagne. Good times.
Shout out to John and Denise Longwell. John has his EP 3 series BMW flying. He was racing for first both days when intermittent ignition issues sidelined him. He'll fix it and win some races. Denise gave me the use of her GT3 BMW Sunday so I could have a ride in the Super Tour. I had an awesome ride and pulled a 2nd in a 3 car field. The Longwells are some of the best people you will ever find at the track and great friends.

Thanks to everyone who came out for the event especially you out of state/Division. competitors.

2 EP Inness Eisele 02:04.0
Great to see Inness run that well in his new EP BMW E30 3-series. Inness is a friend of mine who use to work out here in central Ohio as an engineer with Honda. He's raced a lot of cars, basically whatever Honda R&D had, but that was all FWD stuff.

Yes Inness's car was quick, especially as it was the debut weekend. He is likely no small part of the reason John Longwell's car picked up so much as he has been working hard on that ride as well and will soon be an official member of that clan as he is recently engaged to Kelly, John's daughter.

a post script on the Boxters: After examination at the event it was determined they were more properly classed in STU. I had a great race with a couple of them Sunday.
