Flywheel question

Question as to flywheel material: the GCR speaks to diameter but not material. This has probably been answered before so mea culpa - but on a LP 1275 can I use an aluminum flywheel? Thanks

4. Any flywheel of stock diameter or larger can be used,
provided it attaches to the standard or permitted alternate
crankshaft at the stock location. Additional fasteners can
be used. The diameter of the flywheel includes the diameter
of the starter ring. Cars that are permitted a specific
alternate transmission on the specification line can use
a flywheel of stock diameter or larger for that alternate
transmission.

Taylor Race Engineering in Texas makes a 6lb flywheel for the Tilton aluminum clutch for a 1275. It's billet steel and a beautiful piece of work.

Peter May Engineering also makes a similar flywheel. MED Engineering as well. Pictures included. The aluminum flywheels are getting hard to find for the 7.25" clutch, but I like the feature of being able to replace the friction surface over time, the steel fly wheel don't offer this.

Also some in vintage racers are playing with aluminum flywheels that are made for stock type clutches (meaning you ca buy them for $300-350), then going to Spec Clutch and getting stock type bolt on, but race clutches, this is what I do on my MGB, as good as Tilton clutch for a fraction of the cost.
