FIAT X1/9

I know there are a few here that race this car.

Other than the Haynes service manual are there any other good books to have, for repairing these??

After looking thru the Haynes manual I have a few questions, like how do you remove the bumpers? They need to be removed to do some body work.

I assume the front fenders don't come off, are they welded on? One has some rust and will need to be repaired, if it could be removed, might be easier to replace it, that is if a replacement were available.

Also the header that Vick's Fiat sells, they say it won't fit cars with A/C, anybody know what the fit issue is? If the top mounted alternator needs to be moved that would be OK.

Thanks

Thanks

I did see the Allison header, that is a really nice part, of course it cost twice as much as the other one. I did get a good deal on a set of dellorato carbs, so maybe I should just get the more expensive header.

Last night I did find a factory service manual, so that might be helpful, where the Haynes book leaves things out.

Bayless is great, I have there history book of fiat racing, fun book to read.

The last inspection sticker on this car is from 1988, might not have been real dry storage, but then can't be to surprised by some rust on a Fiat. At least the AC still works!

This should be a fun project, might use it for hill climbs, not sure those look scary....
