FIAT x1/9 brakes

While taking the brakes apart I noticed they will take the same pads I use on the front of the fiesta race car.

RX7 rear pads will fit on both front and rear, on the fiesta I use hawk blue.

Not sure if that will help provide anyone else with more options.

Any better compounds than Hawk Blue out there?
The blues work, but they're a bit grabby compared to the newer compounds like DTC-60 or 70.

Prefer hawk because of contingency. I can get Hawk pads for the RX7 through Mazda, Hawk, or Summit- all via contingency. booyah.

Well the only thing I have ever run on the fiesta is the Hawk blue pads.

So my experience is somewhat limited.....

Sorry maybe someone else has more experience with different pads.

There did seem to be limited choices with the RX7 rear, maybe since the rear brakes are not as critical. But then some of us run those on the front, and on a front drive they do most of the work.

Being front drive I do all or most of the braking on a straight line, since I need to be back on the power as soon as I turn the wheel into the turn, so brake feel might not be as critical....

Any of you guys ever heard of Carbotech ? They offer contigencies and foremost produce excellent, varied compounds and applications of pads. I have used MANY brands over the years and they have them ALL beat with their knowledge, dedication, service and product.

AP54B (17mm) Stock Front and AP71(10mm) Stock Rear.

Mike P's a good guy and Carbo contingencies are certainly nice, but I've had great results
with Porterfields. They'll put you into your belts pretty quickly when you step on the pedal
and aren't as expensive.

I ran Carbotechs on a different car about 10 years ago and wasn't thoroughly pleased with them. squealed like a sumbeech no matter how hard I was on them or what temperature, and didn't seem to work any better than other brands I'd had been using at the time. I might give them a try again when I run out of the stack of Blues that came with the car..
