DCNF and IDF webers

Any experience with these??

Which one is shorter, or are they about the same??

Will the IDF use DCOE jets? I tink the DCNF uses diffrent jets?

I have book that explains setting up the DCOE's using one choke per cylinder. Any idea how to star jetting when using a single 2 barrel down draft on a 4 cylinder. Limited prep 1600cc Typically runs about 5500 to 7,000 RPM.

Ted,
Due to the design of the manifold the split for tuning is 1/4 & 2/3. You get a very distinct difference caused by the different length of the intake runners. I used egt's to tune on my Turner with the dcnf and when I went on the dyno, it was spot on. I saw egt's of 1350-1400.

The problem is a lack of space...

It works fine with the Twin DCOE's, but that includes a extra 75 pounds, which is ok but now with the alternate gearbox, I will have to add weight. Nobody likes to add weight....

Also with the single carb, I would have the option of running GTL, with the twin set-up I can't fit a airbox, or a air filter. The side drafts are just to close to the firewall. The alternate gearbox has 5 gears, to run H prod, need to figure out how to dissable a gear. So it might be simpler to run a few events as GTL.

I think I have to use the OEM manifold, but can use a adapter, spacer. Not sure how much space I have vertcally to the hood, that is why I wonder if one of the down drafts is taller. The OEM manifold is short mabe to short to be near ideal...

I do have a air/fuel ratio gauge.

Ted,
I have an oem manifold if you need one. Yours for the cost of shipping or pick it up at a National.

Ted,
Rick Starkweather's Fiesta had the downdraft. Not sure what he had for clearance, but maybe he will see this and lend some insight.

Calling the stock Fiesta manifold a manifold is being very kind. Would love to be able to replace it, but rules prevent that.

Thanks, the manifold I have and yes it isn't ideal, but should work.

I think Rick had a DCNF, But if the IDF will work, and if the IDF uses the same jets as a DCOE, that would be nice.

The advantage of the single downdraft, I will be able to see the ignition. Right now the distributor is hidden.

I will just have to buy one of them and make it work... Have to make up the air box and set up the SIR, and I am sure that will affect the tuning as well. If the SIR chokes it to much at upper RPM, then it might go rich...

I thought for Prod we had to use the OEM manifold.... Of course in GTL can use anything. I can't win in GTL but could do that until I sort out dissabling a gear from the 5 speed alternate gearbox.

Rick you were plenty fast, so I might not lose much by using one carb.

Wish you still had that car, I wanted to race against you again, that was a great Prod festival. It was funny how you put softer tires on the back, why do that, the back tires don't do much anyhow. The front ones do all the work....

I was talking with Weber Carbs Direct this AM trying to determine if there was an advantage to either and if my 32/36 DGV jets I stocked up on would be useful at all. In short, it was no and no. The dimensions mentioned above may be useful and the determining factor. And thanks for the input, Rick. I could have swore you had the IDF on there.
