Alex Davis - Sydney's dad

Our friend Alex has been in and out of the hospital now for the last couple of months. We thought things were getting better, but today he took a sharp turn for the worse. They put him on dialysis and got things going again, but he's in ICU. Spin the prayer drum a little harder tonight.

Thanks for the update, James. I saw her get the news at the track and leave, and assumed it was her dad, but I didn't want to ask what was going on.

Thanks for the prayers guys. Dad is doing better this morning, but definitely gave us a scare. He's definitely a fighter and isn't giving up quite yet.

Just a quick recap for those unsure of what's happened... He had quad bypass back in May, and while the surgery went fine, he had lots of complications afterward. He's been to two different hospitals and a couple of months in a rehab hospital. His gallbladder wasn't in the best shape but they wanted to wait to take that out until he was back home and recovering, but two weeks ago had to pull it out anyway. He's had a hard time recovering from the anesthesia, resulting in the need for dialysis. The plan for now is to monitor day to day, and see how his body responds. I'll try and keep posting updates when I can.

Thanks for all the love and support <3

Appreciate the update, Syd! We'll be praying for you guys.
Let us know if there's anything we can do to help.

A couple of new hoses and a filter .... Alex will be better than new.
Sydney, keep up the care. We'll pray here.

Update on Daddy:

He's been moved out of the ICU and into a room at the rehab hospital. He's been getting rounds of dialysis every other day or so, and the doctors are encouraged with his progress, although it's a bit slower than my dad would like. He's a bit discouraged about the amount of swelling he still has because that hinders the physical therapists in the range of motion and exercises he can do. My uncle and I are confident that increased motion in general will hopefully help alleviate the swelling.

Thanks for your continued thoughts and prayers.

Locals, if you'd like to stop by and visit, give me a call (713-628-8337). If you'd like to send him something, you can email me (davis.sydney[@]gmail.com) or mail it to my parents house: 15110 Vista Heights, Cypress, TX 77433.

The next chapter has begun. Daddy was moved to HEALTHSOUTH this afternoon. It is a rehab facility for extended and quality therapy. He'll start out with 3 hours 7 days a week, and they will customize it as he progresses. Thank you for the continued thoughts and prayers. <3
