2 Stupid questions

We are going to run the VW ITb car in HP.
The rules say that batteries are free. But no mention of location. I assume that location is also free??
The rules says tires are free, Can I run the IT legal, DOT tires?

Almost everyone moves their battery somewhere similar to the stock Miata location because Miata's are by nature a cheater car and they can't have it wrong. ;-)

Put the necessary ballast where it does the most good. If there are guys running at the pointy end of the stick in your area try to get their cast offs and run them. I almost always run the tires off Kosdrosky's Caterham. Well until I switched to the radial. Now I'll use Doc Smith's Lotus 7 cast offs. ;-)

I normally only run new tires at the runoffs.

Four heat cycle slicks will be faster than DOT's.
