    Incoming!!

Was looking for an HP car to go with my vintage race and found this one less than a half mile from where I live. Will hopefully get it out of the trailer and in the shop next week. This is a picture taken about ten years ago. It's an early Rick Haynes chassis.

    Flywheel question

Question as to flywheel material: the GCR speaks to diameter but not material. This has probably been answered before so mea culpa - but on a LP 1275 can I use an aluminum flywheel? Thanks 4. Any flywheel of stock diameter or larger can be used, provided it attaches to the standard or...

    Car darts/hunts under heavy braking

We're racing at Mid-Ohio this weekend: car darts or hunts under heavy breaking. Brake M/C and calipers are new, brake pads (Hawk black) are not. We're running 1/16 static toe out. This is the stock MG Midget brake setup. Any thoughts? Thanks EZ

    Adjustable race seat

We're thinking about building a LP MGB race car...poor mental health care will do that...the issue is how to install/mount a moveable seat to accommodate drivers of two different heights (74" to 66"). Has anyone faced this type of issue? Any clever solutions? Pictures? Thanks EZ

Getting a 1275 Spridget quiet at Waterford Hills

Going to try a club race at Waterford with my vintage Spridget. Car has a healthy 1275 with the open exhaust exiting out the driver's right just before the rear wheel under the car (not thru the tranny tunnel - maybe next year). As I understand it the sound meter is on driver's left down the...

    Trailer axle question

Has anyone used a Bearing Buddy product or EZ Lube product for keeping grease in the axle hubs? There seems to be mixed comments on only using those on boat trailers where the axle might be submerged. Any thoughts/experiences? Thanks EZ

    post sand blast

In a moment of insanity thanks in large part to Dayle Frame's rebuild of his Team Turtle car, I have decided to embarke on a rebuild of my vintage racer aka Midge 2.0. Here is the immediate question: what do I paint/prime the tub with (nice rust free tub from Texas, RWA MG Midget) when it comes...

    Record/note keeping

Any suggestions on race car record/note keeping? I have chassis setup sheets, laptime and tire temp/tire pressure sheets etc. but how does one put all that plus what gets done in the garage (vendor info, setup info, where the part got bot, etc) into a user friendly format? How do you record what...

    Midget body shell differences?

What is the difference between a 1973 SWA Midget tub (1275 drive train) and a 1975 tub that had a 1500 drivetrain in it? Will the 1275 drivetrain bolt right into the newer tub that had the 1500 in it? Thanks

    Radiator replacement

Just purchased a Champion aluminum radiator off of ebay. Part number is EC6474 for my 1973 Mg Midget vintage racer with a 1275 engine. It is almost a direct fit. It is a bit thicker in the core consequently I had to cut a fourth of an inch off of the verticle sides of the shroud box (used an...
